Turkey Tail Miushrooms | Trametes versicolor. Ethically foraged from fallen logs throughout the wilds of the Pacific Northwest. Turkey tails are among the most studied fungi due to their anti-oxidant, anti-microbial, and immunostimulative properties. They are dried, cleaned, and infused into the oils that you can find in this lotion bar. |
Nootka Rose Petals | Rosa nutkana. Ethically foraged from the wilds of the Pacific Northwest. Rose petals are a natural astringent, and are one of the most potent plants you can use on your skin to achieve a soft and flush look. |
Douglas Fir Needles | Pseudotsuga menziesii. Ethically foraged from fallen branches on the Wild One private property. Douglas fir needles are anti-septic and an excellent source of Vitamin C. They are cleaned, processed, and infused into the olive oil that you can find in this lotion bar. |
Calendula Petals | Calendula officianalis. Dried herb sourced from a small apothecary in Portland, OR. Certified organic. Calendula petals are renowned for their ability to speed up the skin's healing process and reduce collagen degeneration. They are infused into the olive oil that you can find in this lotion bar. |
Vanilla Leaf | Achlys triphylla. This is a small, perennial plant native to the forests of the Pacific Northwest. It is also called "sweet after death" due to it's sweet vanilla fragrance it releases when dried. It is included in this infusion because of it's comforting scent and relaxing spiritual effects. |
English Lavendar | Lavandula angustifolia. Our lavender is sourced only from farms located in the Vancouver/Portland area. Besides its lovely, classic floral scent, lavender also boasts anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, and stimulating effects. |
Lilac | Syringa vulgaris. During the short springtime window when lilac is abundant, I infuse lilac flowers directly into the oil used in this recipe. During lilac's off-season, I use an un-cut lilac essential oil purchased directly from the producer. |
Organic Beeswax | Organic beeswax sourced from Joyful Honey in Battle Ground, WA |
Raw Shea Butter | Vitellaria paradox. 100% pure, raw shea butter. Purchased directly from the women in Ghana who produce it. |
Jojoba Oil | Simmondsia chinensis. Grown and extracted in the southwestern United States. Also known as goat nut, deer nut, or wild hazel. The uniqueness of this oil comes from its structure. It is a very long, straight-chain wax ester, rather than it being a triglyceride like most plant oils. Because of this, it more closely mimics the human body's natural sebum. It has been renowned for centuries for its health and beauty benefits when applied to the skin and hair. |
Grapeseed Oil | Vitis vinifera. Grapeseed oil is a by-product of the winemaking industry, making it a sustainable oil choice. It contains a powerful antioxidant called proanthocyanidins. It has been proven to improve the skin's softness and elasticity. |
Cocoa Butter | Theobroma cacao. Raw, unrefined, cold-pressed cocoa butter |
Vitamin E Oil | Vitamin E can come in many forms, and we only use 100% pure D-Alpha tocopherol Vitamin E in our products. It is a natural product, derived from olive oil. |
